	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/05/2016 answer text <p>The detention of pregnant women under Immigration Act powers occurs only in very limited situations, either where there is a clear prospect of early removal or in very exceptional circumstances. Very few pregnant women are detained. Central recording of the number of detained women who have disclosed their pregnancy started in August 2015. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/04/2016 answer text <p>Reducing violence including knife crime is a priority for this Government. In addition to our work with the police and other partners we are working closely with retailers to encourage the responsible sale of knives both in-store and online.</p><p>There are already strict laws on the sale of knives and on how knives can be marketed. It is illegal to sell knives to anyone under 18 (except for folding knives with a blade that does not exceed 7.62cm). The Home Secretary chaired a roundtable with major retailers and the British Retail Consortium on 14 March to encourage them to sell knives more responsibly and discuss what steps they can take to ensure that they have strong age verification processes in place.</p><p>On 23 March the Home Secretary announced agreement of a new set of principles with major retailers to prevent the underage sales of knives both in-store and online, together with commitments on staff training, safe displays, and sales in online marketplaces.</p><p>The agreement is available online at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/sale-of-knives-voluntary-agreement-by-retailers" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/sale-of-knives-voluntary-agreement-by-retailers</a></p><p>We will be working with the British Retail Consortium to promote and extend the principles to other retailers.</p> answering member constituency Staffordshire Moorlands answering member printed Karen Bradley question first answered 13/04/2016 16:39:52 answering member 4110 label Biography information for Dame Karen Bradley

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2016 answer text <p>The Government is providing £80 million of dedicated central government funding over the course of this Parliament to tackle violence, including sexual assault, against women and girls. This includes central funding for rape support centres and £1.7 million per year up to 2017 to part-fund 87 Independent Sexual Violence Advisers who provide appropriate and independent support for victims. These services support all victims of sexual assault including students.</p><p>At the request of the Secretary of State for Business, Universities UK set up a taskforce in September 2015 to bring together relevant stakeholders to explore what more can be done by the higher education sector to prevent, and respond effectively, to incidents of violence and sexual harassment against women, hate crimes and other forms of harassment. The taskforce is considering a range of potential measures, and its work includes an analysis of the nature and scale of the problem.
