Such a Commission would be a substantial undertaking requiring significant time and resource.</p><p>Instead, the Government is on the front foot in engaging with the police and we recognise the changing demands they are facing. The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is a separate mission outside the scope of the CSDP. UK citizens who serve in OSCE missions are not therefore eligible for CSDP medals. The amount spent by the Ombudsman’s office on legal advice varies year on year, and is detailed in the financial expenditure statements in her annual reports to Parliament on the fairness, effectiveness and efficiency of the Service Complaints system.
