These reports are<br>available online at: www.electoralcommission.org.uk.</p><p>Each Electoral Registration Officer maintains a register for their own local area. Some<br>headline registration statistics by area are collated and published annually by the Office for<br>National Statistics, however, this does not include a breakdown of the numbers of EU<br>citizens registered to vote. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/01/2021 answer text <p>Immigration Rule 322(5) related to refusal of leave to remain on the grounds it was undesirable to allow a person to remain in the UK in the light of their character, conduct or associations. It was replaced with rule 9.3.1 in Part 9 of the Immigration Rules laid on 22 October 2020. This provides for the mandatory refusal of permission to stay where a person’s presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good because of their character, conduct or associations.</p><p>Published guidance makes clear the behaviours which mean an application would be refused under rule 9.3.1. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/05/2021 answer text <p>The Government is using every possible channel to encourage everyone who may be eligible for the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) to apply.</p><p>The Home Office is currently working with HMRC and DWP to send letters to EU, EEA and Swiss citizens who receive benefits, but it appears are yet to apply to the EUSS. These letters, sent by HMRC and DWP, seek to encourage recipients to apply to the EUSS to protect their existing rights in the UK before the deadline of 30 June 2021.</p><p>In trying to reach as many people as possible, there may be a small number of instances where these letters are sent to recipients across the UK who are naturalised as a British citizen. The letter may also be received by a small number of individuals who have already applied to the EUSS, for example because they applied after the initial exercise with DWP or HMRC was completed, but before the letter was sent out.</p><p>The letters make clear anyone who is a British citizen or already has EUSS status does not need to take any action. This is not undertaken as standalone activity and these techniques could be employed across a wide range of Home Office business areas. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/06/2021 answer text <p>In order to achieve the transformation outcomes set out in the 2025 UK Border Strategy; to use upstream compliance to move processes away from the actual frontier where appropriate both for passengers and traders, there are a number of complex and dependent activities which need to be delivered.</p><p>All travellers (except British and Irish) coming to the UK will need to hold an electronic permission to travel ahead of departure and carriers will need to integrate with government systems to provide data and recognise electronic permissions to travel. The programme plans to engage with and onboard carriers, provide all customers with electronic permissions as well as a robust testing schedule of the enabling technology.</p><p>Most international train journeys into the UK are already through juxtaposed controls so a passenger has crossed the border before they board a train. This includes almost doubling decision makers number to c.1,000, providing improved training and career progression opportunities to aid retention of staff. This investment in our people will speed up processing times and increase the throughput of asylum decisions.</p><p>We are continuing to develop existing and new technology to help build on recent improvements such as digital interviewing and move away from a paper-based system. We are streamlining and digitalising the case working process to enable more effective workflow, appointment booking and decision-making. Additionally, we have introduced specialist Decision Making Units, providing greater ownership and management of cohorts of asylum cases.</p><p>Asylum decision makers receive extensive mandatory training and mentoring on considering asylum claims.
