These include locally-targeted interventions such as text and general practitioners (GP) reminders.</p><p> </p><p>As part of the delivery of the GP Five Year Forward View, the NHS has invested more than £258 million this year to improve access to general practice, including improved access to all routine appointments (including screening) at weekends and/or evenings.</p><p> </p><p>The UK National Screening Committee recently reviewed the evidence for self-sampling as part of the programme modifications to the NHS Cervical Screening programme, to support non-attendance and access. The 2018 Autumn Budget also announced that a further £410 million is available in 2019/20 to improve social care for older people, people with disabilities and children.</p><p>Under the Care Act 2014, local authorities are required to shape their local markets to ensure that they are sustainable, diverse and offer high quality care and support. Councils have statutory duties to meet the social care needs of the elderly, disabled and vulnerable people in their area.</p><p>This Government is also committed to ensuring that the social care system is sustainable in the longer term, which is why we will be publishing a Green Paper at the earliest opportunity, setting out our proposals for reform. The Department does not hold the reasons for days being taken off sick.</p><p>Adult social care employers have a responsibility to provide a safe environment for service users and employees and to protect people, as far as is reasonable, from violence and aggression at work. No member of staff should be expected to endure abuse or suffer fear from physical attack or threat as part of their job.</p><p>The Departments delivery partner, Skills for Care, has worked with adult social care employers to ensure they are able to minimise the risk to their workforce by effectively training and developing their staff to be able to support people through positive behaviour support. The Prime Minister's Challenge on Dementia 2020 (started in 2015) sets out the ambition for two thirds of people with dementia to receive a formal diagnosis. We collect data for an indicator: Estimated Dementia Diagnosis Rate 65+. This indicator compares the number of people thought to have dementia with the number of people diagnosed with dementia, aged 65 and over. The result is presented as a rate, in the form of a percentage and published regularly. From 31 May 2019, NHS trusts can bid for this funding, on a matched basis.</p><p>We are supportive of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government consultation which ran from 12 May 2019 to 22 July 2019 and sought views on how to increase provision of Changing Places toilets in specific new, large buildings commonly used by the public, as well as those undergoing building works.
