unstar this property answer text <p /> <p>Calls to the winter fuel payment helpline were:</p><p> </p><p>· 2013/14 226,672</p><p>· 2012/13 303,610</p><p>· We do not hold data for the three financial years before 2012/13</p><p> </p><p>For the financial years of 2009/10 – 2013/14, the Department for Work and Pensions did not receive any revenue for the telephone number 08459 151515.</p><p> </p><p>The Winter Fuel Payment Helpline service can also be accessed by dialling 0345 9151515. Callers to 0845 9151515 are informed of the availability of the 0345 number option. There is still evidence that the 0845 option can be cheaper for some callers and as a result there are currently no plans to discontinue this number.</p><p> </p><p>DWP use of 0845 numbers will be reviewed once the impacts of Ofcom changes to 08 numbers are known. These changes are currently scheduled to be implemented in July 2015.</p> more like this

In line with the conventions of the House, correspondence between Ministers and MPs are confidential as far as the Department is concerned, and it is a matter for the MP to decide whether to make it more widely available. The Department has no issue if the Rt Hon Member for East Ham chooses to place a copy of the letter in the library.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p /> <p>The Fraud and Error Service (FES), part of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for the investigation of fraud against all benefits administered by DWP.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The 14/15 budget allocation for preventing, detecting and handling cases of fraud and error in the benefits system is:-</p><p><strong>£148.5m.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The headcount for FES at the end of January 2015 was 5,057 which is a full time equivalent of 4,502 staff.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>All Universal Credit claims - whether relating to the employed, self-employed or unemployed - which are successfully made are then registered on HMRC systems. Any PAYE reported in real time by employers in respect of these is then passed to Universal Credit systems. The majority of employed Universal Credit claimants will have their earnings reported via PAYE, and over 99% of all such employments are now being reported in real-time. For the minority whose earnings are not reported through PAYE (for example the self-employed) we have developed processes to ensure they can self-report their earnings.</p> more like this
