A full breakdown of allocations can be found in the Chief Secretary’s Written Ministerial Statement, HCWS540, laid on the 13th March (<a href="https://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/written-questions-answers-statements/written-statement/Commons/2018-03-13/HCWS540/" target="_blank">https://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/written-questions-answers-statements/written-statement/Commons/2018-03-13/HCWS540/</a>)</p><p>The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) was allocated £23.6 million in 2018/19 as part of this.</p><p> </p><p>At Autumn Budget 2017, the Chancellor also set aside £1.5 billion of additional funding for department’s EU Exit preparations in 2019/20. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/10/2018 answer text <p>HM Revenue &amp; Customs has received a number of representations from the tobacco industry and others about the implementation of a track and trace system.</p><p> </p><p>As I set out in my previous answer, the government is committed to meeting the requirements for independence from the tobacco industry as per Article 8 of the WHO FCTC Protocol to Eliminate the Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.</p><p> </p><p>The track and trace system will be implemented under the EU Tobacco Products Directive. The implementing legislation for the Directive specifies strict and comprehensive criteria by which independence from the tobacco industry is determined. Providers of the track and trace system will need to demonstrate to HM Revenue &amp; Customs that they satisfy this criteria both before and during the period they provide the services required as a condition of holding the respective contracts. It is a key condition of securing this contract that the system proposed meets all the requirements of both the EU Tobacco Products Directive and WHO FCTC Protocol to Eliminate the Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.</p><p> </p><p>The government has no plans to introduce tax stamps for tobacco products.
