star this property answer text <p>The automotive sector is an important part of the Government’s plans for green growth, levelling up across our country and driving emissions to net zero by 2050.</p><p>The Government is committed to support the 149,000 jobs in the automotive sector across the UK, as they transition to a zero emission future.</p><p>As part of the Government’s Net Zero Strategy, we are allocating a further £350 million for the Automotive Transformation Fund, as part of our £1 billion commitment to build an internationally competitive electric vehicle supply chain including gigafactories.</p><p>Recent investment announcements by Nissan, Stellantis and Ford will support thousands of highly skilled, green jobs in the UK, and many more across the supply chain.</p><p>As set out in the Transport Decarbonisation Plan, up to 60,000 jobs are expected to be supported by ZEV manufacturing by 2050. Specific numbers of jobs created by the ZEV mandate would be dependent on the design of the framework. This is something that the Government will be analysing as we develop specific proposals.</p>

They have consulted with a wide variety of stakeholders including industry, vessel operators and commercial lenders. These discussions are helping to shape the development of the business case and inform the requirements for the prospective instrument.</p> more like this
