star this property answer text <p>The Department for Education, its executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies do not provide workplace nurseries for staff.</p><p>The Department's approach to childcare support focuses on providing flexibility for staff in arranging childcare provision. As part of the overall benefits package, the Department provides a childcare voucher scheme to help cover the cost of nursery and pre-school for children under school age and forms of out of school care for school age children. This enables staff with childcare responsibilities to be more flexible as to when and where they access childcare support.</p><p> </p> more like this

My Rt. Hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, visited Norwood Kennedy Leigh Family Centre in November 2013.</p><p>It should be noted that we do not keep records of the specific business model of every nursery or childcare setting Ministers visit. star this property answer text <p>According to the information that the Department for Education holds, we are aware that forty three early years providers, who have been granted full or partial exemptions from the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, are in receipt of early education funding.</p><p> </p><p>Information on the exemption process for early years providers is available at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-early-years-foundation-stage-eyfs-learning-and-development-requirements-guidance-on-exemptions-for-early-years-providers" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-early-years-foundation-stage-eyfs-learning-and-development-requirements-guidance-on-exemptions-for-early-years-providers</a></p><p> </p><p>As the published information above states, to be granted an exemption, independent schools have to meet the quality threshold of ‘good' or better judgment in the school's most recent inspection report; meet the other conditions set in the Secretary of State's Direction (which is to notify parents and the local authority) and notify the Department of their intention to take up the exemption.</p><p> </p><p>Providers who are governed by principles of learning and development that cannot be reconciled with the learning and development requirements of the EYFS have to submit an application to the Secretary of State, demonstrating how their principles of learning and development conflicts with the EYFS and meet the other conditions set by the Secretary of State which is to notify parents and the local authority of their intention.</p><p> </p>
