To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether the process of resettling 20,000 refugees by 2020 fulfils the criteria of the UNHCR Integration Programme outlined in its 2013 report The Integration of Resettled Refugees, including provisions for pre-departure information, initial reception, orientation and documentation, social support, employment support, language training, education, healthcare, housing and income support.

The UK has worked closely with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees on both the development and delivery of its Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme.Through the International Organisation for Migration the UK offers cultural orientation pre-departure to refugees being resettled to the UK. Upon arrival, local authorities are funded to provide refugees with a 12 month support package tailored to their individual needs which includes; accommodation, support in addressing any medical and social care needs, integration assistance and English language tuition.
