star this property answer text <p>We have no plans to limit the number of times a person applying to rent a home may be subject to fees for administration and immigration checks. However, letting agents are required to be fully transparent about their fees and publicise a complete tariff of fees in their offices and on their website. The Government believes that full transparency gives consumers the information they need. We intend to carry out a review later this year into how well this approach is working. Not all letting agents do charge fees for right to rent checks and when right to rent was rolled out in the West Midlands, it was found that the majority of letting agents were not charging a fee for conducting the right to rent immigration checks.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government recognises the important contribution that Welsh ports make to the economy, and intends to ensure that traffic continues to flow freely at all UK ports and airports, including at those such as Holyhead, Fishguard and Pembroke Dock.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s White Paper on the UK’s Future Relationship with the European Union set out our proposal of a new Facilitated Customs Arrangement which would avoid any new routine customs checks and controls for UK-EU trade.</p><p> </p><p>However, it is our duty as a responsible Government to prepare for all potential outcomes. HMRC and other departments working with the Border Delivery Group are engaging port users and operators, domestically and at key EU ports, to ensure locations are operationally ready to meet the requirements of future customs arrangements with the EU.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>This Government has pledged to continue to commit the same cash total in funds for farm support until the end of this parliament, expected in 2022. We have also confirmed we will pay the 2019 Basic Payment Scheme on the same basis as we do now. All Pillar 2 projects signed by 31 December 2020 will be funded for their lifetime. Any changes made to agricultural funding would reflect the Government’s aim of securing a better future for UK agriculture and for the environment.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Home Office policy is not to provide asylum seekers with publicly funded English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses. They may access courses on a fee-paying basis. Asylum claimants awaiting a decision for over six months are eligible for a 50% contribution to the cost of ESOL courses through the Adult Education Budget. We also know that many ESOL providers use their discretion to set lower fees.</p><p>Those granted refugee status by the Home Office and in receipt of certain work-related benefits are eligible for fully funded ESOL courses.</p><p>We encourage asylum claimants (adults and dependants of an adult asylum seeker) to contact the Asylum Help helpline for free and independent advice (telephone: 0808 8000 630, https://www.gov.uk/asylum-helplines).</p> more like this

This cannot continue – and the partnership with Rwanda is a key part of our plans to reform the system and put an end to unsustainable costs which impact the taxpayer.</p><p>The Government’s efforts to facilitate entirely legitimate and legal returns of people who have entered the UK illegally are too often frustrated by late challenges submitted hours before the flight. These claims are very often baseless and entirely without merit, but are given full legal consideration which can lead to removal being rescheduled.</p><p>Costs for individual flights and legal services will vary based on a number of different factors and are regularly reviewed to ensure that best value for money is balanced against the need to remove those individuals with no right to remain in the UK.</p><p>We do not routinely disclose commercial or operational information relating to individual charter flights.</p>
