star this property answer text <p /> <p>The Government has no immediate plans to introduce personal advocates for child asylum seekers across the UK.All unaccompanied children entering local authority care are entitled to the same level of support and protection, regardless of their immigration status, nationality or documentation. This includes a social worker responsible for planning the care of the child, and an independent reviewing officer who would ensure the child was aware of the implications of their immigration and asylum status.</p><p /> more like this

star this property answer text <p> </p><p> </p><p>At the end of December 2011, 331 asylum applications from main applicants, aged 17 or under, were pending a further review, 184 at the end of December 2012 and 206 at the end of December 2013. Cases pending further review are those in the appeals process (all tiers), but exclude those that are pending a judicial review. <br><br>In 2011, 150 appeals from applicants aged 17 or under were allowed; 152 in 2012 and 125 in 2013.<br><br>Appeal determinations do not necessarily relate to those pending a further review in the same period. The figures for appeals determined are cases dealt with by Immigration Judges at the First-tier Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber. The figures for pending further review including First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber.<br><br>The figures provided are a subset of latest published statistics which are published by the Home Office on a monthly (pending only) and quarterly basis. star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office works closely with local authorities and third sector partners in order to identify suitable placements for unaccompanied children for transfer to the UK from Europe under our existing obligations.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Government remains fully committed to relocating the specified number of 480 unaccompanied children to the UK under section 67 of the Immigration Act 2016 (the Dubs Amendment) as soon as possible. We will publish a full data set on the transfers once we have fulfilled this commitment.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">Over 220 children were transferred to the UK under section 67 when the Calais camp was cleared in late 2016. Since then we have been making further progress with Greece and the other participating states, to transfer more eligible children to move closer to achieving this commitment</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Home Office works closely with local authorities and third sector partners in order to identify suitable placements for unaccompanied children for transfer to the UK from Europe under our existing obligations. star this property answer text <p>A child who is of the first generation born overseas to a British citizen will be a British citizen by descent. A child of a subsequent generation born over-seas will not automatically be a British citizen, but has a statutory entitlement to register as such where close ties to the UK are retained.</p><p><br>There are exceptions to this position where the parent is based overseas undertaking activities such as Crown Service.</p><p><br>A child born overseas to a person who holds either indefinite leave to remain or permanent residence will not acquire British citizenship. Where the child does not have the ability to return to the UK in their own right, then there are provisions under which a child can seek to accompany a settled or EEA parent.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>A pilot project to support those resettled under the VPRS and VCRS into employment is being established in Yorkshire and Humber. This pilot is based on a small private project that has been running, entirely independent of Government funding, in Bradford. A further pilot project to support those wishing to start their own small businesses is also underway: a number of families have been helped in Scotland, and preparations are in place for a second location in England. Any learning from the experience of the VPRS or the VCRS would be considered to inform our approach to the integration for refugees who arrive in the UK by other means.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Accommodation providers are required to provide safe, habitable, fit for purpose and correctly equipped accommodation that complies with the Decent Homes Standard in addition to standards outlined in relevant national or lo-cal housing legislation.</p><p>The contract requires providers to inspect each property every month and UKVI inspects a significant proportion of properties each year to ensure standards are being met. Where asylum accommodation is found to be falling short of the required standards UKVI has procedures in place to hold suppliers to account to quickly resolve the issue.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>According to the UNHCR’s online list of participating States Hungary acceded to the 1951 Convention and 1967 Protocol on 14 March 1989.</p><p>The EU Procedures Directive sets out when a Member State may declare an asylum claim inadmissible, including when it is permissible to return an asylum applicant to a safe third country. Hungary is also bound by the EU Returns Directive, which includes safeguards for individuals facing removal from participating States.</p><p>Member States' implementation and compliance with EU legislation is a matter for the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. The Government has no plans to make representations to the Government of Hungary on this issue.</p> more like this
