unstar this property answer text <p>The Government recognises the importance of effective and timely handling of correspondence with members of the House of Lords. Government departments should aim to provide a substantive response to routine correspondence within a maximum of 20 working days. However, sometimes circumstances dictate that it will not be possible to provide a response within this timeframe. In such instances, departments are advised to issue a ‘holding’ response until a more substantive response can be provided.</p><p>The Cabinet Office publishes an annual report detailing departmental performance in the handling of correspondence from members of both Houses. Lord Young of Cookham set out the 2017 performance figures in a Written Statement on 26 June 2018 (HLWS771). The 2018 performance figures will be published in summer 2019.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>4.011 million dwellings are used for social and affordable housing in England: 1.669 million rented from local authorities and 2.342 million rented from a housing association (Private Registered Provider).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>4,630 dwellings in Pendle are used for social and affordable housing: 4,520 from Housing Associations and 110 from Local Authorities.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Across the social rented sector 434,500 housing benefit claimants in England had a spare room subsidy reduction when the measure was introduced – 533 of these were in Pendle. In February 2015 the number of claimants with a spare room subsidy reduction had fallen to 360,000 in England and 399 in Pendle.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>70 applications for development consent for nationally significant infrastructure projects have been made since responsibility for determining them passed from the Infrastructure Planning Commission to the Secretary of State in 2012. Of these, there have been 46 decisions in total. 45 were taken by the Secretary of State and 1 by the Infrastructure Planning Commission.</p><p>Of these decisions, the Secretary of State granted development consent for 43 projects and declined 2 applications. The Infrastructure Planning Commission granted development consent for 1.</p><p>Of the 70 applications, 4 were withdrawn before they reached the decision stage. 20 applications are currently going through the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Planning process. Details of all the applications including the time each one took between application and decision are set out in the attached table.</p><br /> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>All forms of hate crime are completely unacceptable including antisocial or unlawful behaviour on the grounds of faith or race, this includes protection to those from other EU member states and other countries. This country has one of the strongest legal frameworks in the world to report, record and prosecute hate crime.</p><p>In October 2018, the government published a refreshed hate crime action plan setting out the Government’s approach to tackling hate crime, ranging from prevention to victim support. A major national communications campaign was launched in late 2018 to raise awareness about hate crime.</p><p>There is no room for complacency. As we prepare to leave the European Union, it is entirely responsible and appropriate we continue to work closely with all of our operational partners, including the police, to ensure we are alive to any issues that may arise.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Almost 15,000 vulnerable people, including those who were street homeless, have been housed in emergency accommodation, including hotels, since the start of the COVID-19, according to returns from local authorities.</p><p>We are continuing to work with local authorities to understand the work they are doing to help the most vulnerable in our society. We announced on 24 May plans to provide thousands of long-term, safe homes for vulnerable rough sleepers taken off the streets during this pandemic. This ambitious commitment will be backed by £160 million this year through accelerating plans for the £381 million announced for rough sleeping services at Budget, bringing the total to £433 million over the lifetime of this Parliament. The Government is increasing the revenue support of the total programme by 37% to make sure that the rough sleepers have the support they need to stay off the streets for good.</p><p>This funding with 3,300 units of this accommodation becoming available in the next 12 months. Homes England, in partnership with my Department, have pledged to work hand-in-hand with leading Housing Associations and local authorities to deliver this.</p><p> </p><p> </p>
