Ministers also activated the Flood Recovery Framework on 18 February, with support being provided to eligible local authorities to help local residents and businesses affected by the storms. Government has also announced the Property Flood Resilience Scheme to help homes and businesses become more resilient to flooding. This is not a good use of scarce social housing and it is not likely to lead to strong and cohesive communities.</p><p>The provisions in the Housing and Planning Bill require that towards the end of the fixed term the landlord must review the tenant’s circumstances. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/02/2016 answer text <p>The previous Coalition Government consulted on proposals to create a new local authority flexible tenancy with a minimum fixed term of two years in November 2010 – in ‘Local decisions: a fairer future for social housing’. Government is instead focussed on tackling rogue landlords. In April 2018, using powers under the Housing and Planning Act 2016, we introduced a national database of rogue landlords and property agents. We are committed to making this database publicly accessible as soon as parliamentary time allows.</p><p>Moreover, and unlike in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, local housing authorities in England are also able to introduce selective licensing of landlords in targeted areas to tackle specific problems, as long as the statutory requirements are met. The Fire safety advice, which remains unchanged, is that:</p><ul><li><p>Smoke alarms save lives but only if they’re working and in the right place. Ensure you have at least one on every level of your home and test them regularly – monthly is best.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Keep fire doors shut to help prevent the spread of fire and smoke.</p></li><li><p>Understand and follow the fire safety advice for your building.
