unstar this property answer text <p>The Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration announced an inspection of contingency asylum accommodation on 25 January 2021.</p><p>The department acknowledges the ICIBI’s decision to publish on 8 March the initial findings from site visits to Napier Barracks and Penally.</p><p>The ICIBI’s inspection continues and a full inspection report will follow.</p><p>The duration of the inspection is a matter for the ICIBI and upon its conclusion, following standard procedure set out in the UK Borders Act 2007, the Department will issue a formal response alongside the inspection report as it is laid before Parliament and published on Gov.UK.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Each establishment licence holder has the responsibility at all times for the welfare of the animals within their establishment.</p><p>Establishment licence holders are required to have governance systems in place to ensure all Personal and Project Licence Holders comply with the requirements of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA) and to maintain compliance with the conditions on their own establishment licence. These requirements are defined in the Standard Conditions of licences.</p><p>In July 2021 the regulator initiated a new operating model that delivers a structured and integrated framework aligned with leading regulatory practice. In October of this year the regulator commenced a new system of full system audits that form part of an integrated system to assess compliance across the regulated community.</p><p>The audit process and the evidence for assessment of compliance against the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, and associated licence conditions, are available at: <a href="http://www.gov.uk/guidance/animal-research-technical-advice#process-and-standards-for-establishment-full-system-audits" target="_blank">www.gov.uk/guidance/animal-research-technical-advice#process-and-standards-for-establishment-full-system-audits</a></p>

unstar this property answer text <p>There are several different types of accommodation blocks at Penally.</p><p>The beds in the accommodation blocks consist of either a single bed or a sole use pod within a block. A pod comprises of 2 bunks (4 beds) separated by a lockable cabinet. Only 1 of the 4 beds in a pod is in use at any time.</p><p>The number of people varies according to block size and type however the numbers in each room is calculated to ensure that it is possible to adhere to COVID rules.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Across our estate there is an expectation that there will be mixed cohorts within our accommodation.</p><p>Some of our core Initial Accommodation may be configured to provide segregated areas specially for families and singles. Similarly in our Dispersed Accommodation there will be a mix of family properties and Houses of Multiple Occupation that are specifically for either males, females or mothers and babies.</p><p>Women with children who are in receipt of support are not required to share sleeping quarters with unrelated individuals of the opposite sex but may depending on the circumstances be placed in accommodation facilities that are used to house such individuals.</p><p>The Home Office has published the Asylum Support Contracts Safeguarding Framework at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asylum-support-contracts-safeguarding-framework" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asylum-support-contracts-safeguarding-framework</a>.</p><p>This framework sets out a joint, overarching approach, as well as the key controls and reporting mechanisms in place, across the AASC contracts, for safeguarding arrangements.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government published “The UK’s Points-Based System: Policy Statement” on 19 February, follwing the report of independent Migration Advisory Committee in January.</p><p>The Migration Advisory Committee advised against regional variations, hence we will deliver a system which works for the whole of the UK.</p><p>In delivering on its manifesto commitments for a Austrialian style new points-based system, the Government has considered relevant views, evidence, and analysis. We will also keep labour market data under careful scrutiny.</p><p>The Home Office will publish further detail on the points-based system in due course and will continue to engage with stakeholders across Wales on it.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Following a change in the design of the royal crown and the implementation of Kings Charles III cypher, the Cabinet Office issued guidance in July 2023 to organisations that use a depiction of the royal crown in their logo which includes the police.</p><p>This guidance sets out that there is no timeline for changes to be made and that organisations should adopt a low-cost approach to implementation and to avoid new costs where possible including when physical depictions are updated.</p><p>It is an operational matter for individual forces to develop their own implementation strategy based on these guidelines.</p> more like this

Transfers have not been made in areas where tier 3 restrictions are in place.</p><p>All movements of asylum seekers are undertaken with due regard to regulations in place in both England and Wales.</p> more like this
