star this property answer text <p>The UK is a world leader in clean growth – leading the G20 in cutting emissions while growing the economy.</p><p> </p><p>The recent Offshore Wind Sector Deal is a fantastic example of how this government and industry are partnering to create good jobs in new low carbon supply chains whilst further decarbonising our power sector.</p><p> </p><p>We are also working to support clean growth internationally, which is why we have bid to host COP26 in 2020, to demonstrate our commitment towards the Paris agreement and maintain momentum.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>One year ago, our Education and Employment Strategy set out plans to transform the way prisoners develop the skills they need to secure employment on release.</p><p>Since then, we have overhauled the prison education system through implementing new contracts and a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). These allow governors to commission skills-based training and education that meets the needs of the local labour market.</p><p>We have also introduced the New Futures Network (NFN), which brokers partnerships between prisons and employers in England and Wales, and a new ROTL framework to increase the opportunities available for prisoners to gain experience in real workplaces.</p> more like this

In addition, all Local Authorities in Great Britain and four in Northern Ireland have pledged to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant.</p><p> </p><p>Broadening support for the Covenant is a top priority for the Ministerial Covenant and Veterans Board and the Armed Forces Covenant annual report outlines the progress we have made.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Our main contribution in helping to tackle economic crime is to run a world class court system that has a strong international reputation and enables highly complex crimes to be prosecuted.</p><p> </p><p>As well as that work, we are also active in scrutinising the law to see if anything needs to be changed to tackle economic crime. The Department carried out a Call for Evidence to examine the case for a change in the law in corporate criminal liability for economic crime in 2017 and intends publishing its response in 2019.</p><p> </p><p>This is in addition to the creation of a new world class court facility in the City of London specialising in tackling cyber-crime, fraud and economic crime announced earlier this year. This will help reinforce the UK’s reputation as a world-leading legal centre ready to deal with the changing nature of 21st century crime.</p> more like this

At the Autumn Statement, the government announced allocations worth £1.8bn from the Local Growth Fund to all English regions, including £556 million for the North of England. This is on top of the £122.2 million York, North Yorkshire and Humber LEP have already received. star this property answer text <p>The Global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Innovation Fund is a £50 million investment over five years to tackle AMR, with the aim of attracting significant additional investment internationally to stimulate global research. It is not looking at reimbursement models to incentivise the development of new classes of antibiotics or planning to fund pilots at this stage.</p><p>Domestically, the Department is working with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry to develop a new reimbursement model for antimicrobials, and has secured broad agreement to principles that would permit a model to ‘de-link’ company revenues from sales. The aim of this work is to support good antimicrobial stewardship. Discussions with a number of leading pharmaceutical companies have highlighted challenges in evaluating antimicrobial medicines, and the Department is working closely with industry partners to address these.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed £50 million towards setting up a Global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Innovation Fund to increase global investment in AMR. The fund aims to leverage substantial new international investment in AMR research and development for new and repurposed antimicrobials and alternative medicines, rapid diagnostic tests, vaccines and other important technologies, interventions and therapies.</p><p>Professor Dame Sally Davies, the Chief Medical Officer for England and United Kingdom Government adviser, has appointed an expert advisory board to make recommendations on the scope and focus of the investment.</p><p>These discussions are ongoing.</p> more like this
