star this property answer text <p>The Professional Skills Test results database has been updated to reflect the change in outcome for those candidates who were incorrectly notified that they had failed their Skills Test. Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers have access to this database.</p><p>Any candidate affected in this way was instructed to contact the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) if they wanted to discuss their options.</p><p>The STA have also written to all providers of ITT courses to inform them of the issue.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has agreed to provide £350 million in 2015-16 to the least fairly-funded local authorities in England. We are able to achieve this without any local authority receiving a cut to its per-pupil schools budget.</p><p> </p><p>We are able to deliver this boost by using money from within our protected schools budget and because HM Treasury will provide additional funding as required.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education intends to find the majority of the £350 million from within its existing protected schools budget as determined at the Spending Round in June 2013. Based on current forecasts, the Treasury will provide around £90 million in addition to the Department's contribution.</p><p> </p><p>The precise level of any additional funding from the Treasury will become clear when we have final data on pupil numbers.</p> more like this

Friend, the Secretary of State said in the written statement of 10 January [Vol 619 Col 8WS] , officials have started preliminary work to analyse the relevance of the public interest considerations as set out in the Enterprise Act 2002 to the merger. In doing so, they will look at the available evidence and will consider representations which are relevant to those specified public interests.</p><p> </p><p>While those making representations are free to publish their own views, it would be inappropriate for me to publish representations received as a matter of course in order to ensure those wishing to make representations can do so freely and without risking disclosure of commercially sensitive information. In addition there are specific statutory provisions for the handling of this information and protecting its confidentiality.</p><p> </p><p>We do, however, recognise the importance of transparency in this process and will consider the appropriateness of disclosure of representations made within this context.</p><p> </p><p>We will not be conducting a formal public consultation but will give due regard to any relevant representations in reaching any decision on whether or not to intervene.</p><p> </p><p>As said in the statement of 10 January, we will keep Parliament informed of the process as it moves ahead and will make a further statement when the parties have formally notified the Commission, ahead of making any decision about whether to intervene.</p>

star this property answer text <p>British Embassy officials discussed the imprisonment of the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan with Turkish officials in mid-January. They also covered the hunger strikes in support of Abdullah Öcalan by Kurdish prisoners, including Leyla Guven MP. We are pleased to note that she was recently released from prison. We expect the Turkish authorities to ensure that prisoners' human rights are observed, including access to medical treatment.</p> more like this
