This will support the government's drive to improve holiday accommodation standards and provide local authorities with information on which properties are being used as a short term let. In addition, we have committed to consult on the introduction of a planning use class for short term lets. Subject to the outcome of the consultation, this would help local authorities better control the proliferation of such uses. Those found to be bullying, harassing, discriminating, or violent towards employees or customers can face disciplinary procedures including charges of gross misconduct, leading to dismissal.</p><p>Civil Service HR (CSHR) have provided a suite of products to support departments in managing bullying, harassment and violence in the workplace and by third parties, including Media Attention Guidance which sets out the responsibilities for handling instances of unwanted, intrusive or aggressive media attention.</p><p>Departments have their own guidance on dealing with unacceptable customer behaviour including handling situations of - for example - assault against staff. This includes introducing comprehensive, fair and efficient grounds to ensure landlords have confidence they can regain possession when it is reasonable.</p><p>When court action is needed for landlords to gain possession of their property, the courts should provide fair and efficient access to justice. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/01/2023 answer text <p>The department recognises the additional cost of living pressures that have arisen this year and that have impacted students. Many higher education (HE) providers have hardship funds that students can apply to for assistance. There is £261 million of student premium funding available this academic year to support disadvantaged students who need additional help. The department has worked with the Office for Students to ensure universities support students in hardship using both hardship funds and drawing on the student premium.</p><p>Universities and private accommodation providers are autonomous and are responsible for setting their own rent agreements. The department plays no direct role in the provision of student residential accommodation, whether the accommodation is managed by universities or private sector organisations.</p><p>All households will save on their energy bills through the Energy Price Guarantee and the £400 Energy Bills Support Scheme discount. Students who buy their energy from a domestic supplier are eligible for the energy bills discount. The Energy Prices Act passed on 25 October includes the provision to require landlords to pass benefits they receive from energy price support, as appropriate, onto end users. Further details of the requirements under this act are set out in the legislation.</p><p>Students whose bills are included in their rent, including energy charges, will typically have agreed their accommodation costs upfront when signing their contract for the current academic year. Businesses, including those that provide student accommodation, are covered by the Energy Bill Relief Scheme which provides energy bill relief for non-domestic customers in Great Britain.</p><p>A HM Treasury-led review will be launched to consider how to support households and businesses with energy bills after April 2023.</p><p>Decisions on student support for HE courses are taken on an annual basis and changes for the current, 2022/23 academic year, were made through Regulations laid in December 2021.</p><p>The government is currently considering options for changes to loans and grants for living and other costs for the 2023/24 academic year starting in August 2023 and an announcement will follow in due course.</p> answering member constituency Harlow answering member printed Robert Halfon question first answered 04/01/2023 14:58:17 answering member 3985 label Biography information for Robert Halfon

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/01/2023 answer text <p>The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) operates to published service standards of completing 80% of Basic checks within 2 days, 80% of Standard checks within 14 days, and 80% of Enhanced checks within 14 days.</p><p> </p><p>DBS’ year-to-date performance up to 31 October 2022 has been positive, providing 88% of Basic checks within 2 days, 95.2% of Standard checks within 14 days, and 79.5% of Enhanced checks within 14 days. These attainments apply to applications across all employment sectors, including the care sector. Furthermore, DBS is working closely with police forces to improve turnaround times for Enhanced checks.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, DBS provides an Update Service which allows:</p><ul><li>individuals to subscribe so they can keep their standard or enhanced certificates up-to-date; and</li><li>employers to check that person’s certificate online.</li></ul><p> </p><p>This service may reduce the need to apply for multiple certificates when individuals move from one job to another in the same workforce, or when a re-check is required, as employers can carry out a quick online status check to see if an individual’s certificate is still up-to-date. This service may be of significant benefit for individuals that work within the social care sector.</p><p>DBS also provides an ‘adult first check’ service to employing organisations in the care sector. Employers can request the result of a check of DBS’ list of barred adults, ahead of the completion of an Enhanced application. Depending on the result, a person can be permitted to start work with vulnerable adults, under supervision, before the result of an Enhanced DBS check.</p><p>Although DBS does not provide automatic progress updates during the processing of applications. A key part of the strategy is working with industry to reduce their environmental impact and become more sustainable.</p><p>Our SCAP 2020 programme, delivered by our partner WRAP, supported signatories to reduce their water and carbon footprints per tonne of clothing by 18.2% and 21.6% respectively (between 2012 and 2020).</p><p>In 2021 we funded Textiles 2030, a new ambitious programme with signatories representing more than 62% of all clothing placed on the UK market.
