unstar this property answer text <p>The table below sets out the total amounts billed by the Government Legal Department (GLD) Litigation Group in relation to inquests in which they have been instructed by Government Departments and other public bodies.</p><p>GLD represents most, but not all, Government Departments in litigation. In addition, during parts of the period covered by the table, a small number of Departments (that GLD now acts for in litigation) handled their own litigation (including inquests).</p><p>The amounts are set out by financial year from 2010-11 and are exclusive of VAT. This included a proposal for Neonatal Leave and Pay, a new entitlement for parents of babies who require neonatal care following birth, as a result of being born prematurely or sick.</p><p> </p><p>The consultation itself includes a high-level summary of the costs associated with the policy proposal. In addition, we will prepare an impact assessment and will publish this in due course.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Single Electricity Market (SEM) is an example of North-South cooperation that has benefited the consumers and economies of Northern Ireland and Ireland. Therefore it is the Government’s position that by far the best outcome for electricity in Northern Ireland is to maintain the Single Electricity Market, including in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a Withdrawal Agreement. The UK will continue to work with the Irish Government to seek to ensure the Single Electricity Market will continue following Exit.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>It is the UK Government’s position that by far the best outcome for electricity in Northern Ireland is to maintain the Single Electricity Market (SEM). The UK is committed to seeking to maintain the SEM in any scenario and will therefore take all possible measures to do so.  Both the Ireland and Northern Ireland energy regulators have stated that they expect the SEM to continue if the UK leaves the EU without a withdrawal agreement. We will continue to work with the Irish Government to ensure that technical, operational and legal arrangements are in place for the SEM to continue in this scenario.</p> more like this

The Civil Service sickness absence data is published annually. The latest publication is for Q1 2018, published 30 May 2019 and is available online: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/civil-service-sickness-absence" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/civil-service-sickness-absence</a>. This data shows civil servants took an average of 6.9 sick days over the period – significantly lower than the level seen in the wider public sector.</p> more like this
