unstar this property answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p>DIT is preparing a UK trade remedies framework in readiness for the UK leaving the EU.</p><p>In support of this, the Department has issued a call for evidence to identify which UK businesses produce goods currently subject to anti-dumping or anti-subsidy measures, or to an on-going investigation related to these.</p><p>It asks those businesses to state whether they support, are neutral to, or oppose the maintaining of those measures when the UK begins to operate its independent trade remedy framework.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>HMG Ministers and Officials have been actively engaging with the US Administration, Canadian Government, Boeing and Bombardier to facilitate a resolution to this dispute. Ministers and senior officials have had numerous calls and meetings with the US administration and Congress, including with Boeing in relation to this dispute specifically. In addition, the Prime Minister has raised this issue a number of times with President Trump.</p><p>The UK Government has maintained that Boeing’s complaint to the US Department of Commerce is unjustified, and we will continue to strongly defend our case.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>It is the Government’s intention to have our own independent World Trade Organization (WTO) schedules ahead of leaving the EU. Our transition at the WTO continues to move forward.</p><p> </p><p>The appropriate legal mechanism for our goods transition remains rectification. We want to minimise disruption to existing trade and we will act in accordance with WTO rules and procedure. The joint letter we sent with the EU to the WTO membership in October 2017 provides the detail of our proposal.</p><p> </p><p>On services, the UK continues to engage on the detail of our draft schedule. We are committed to retaining our existing commitments. We have also begun the process to independently accede to the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) by formally submitting a market access offer.</p> more like this

Friend the Secretary of State for International Trade has spoken on numerous occasions to the United States Trade Representative, and there have been four meetings of the UK-US Trade and Investment Working Group to date, involving discussions between representatives of the governments of the United Kingdom and the United States on a range of matters. We cannot negotiate any trade agreements whilst we are still members of the EU.</p><p>Any future trade agreements must work for UK producers, businesses, and consumers, and uphold the UK’s high levels of food safety, animal welfare standards, and environmental protection.</p> more like this
