star this property answer text <p>The Hitachi Train manufacturing facility at Newton Aycliffe was officially opened by the Prime Minister on 3rd September 2015. The facility has already employed over 100 staff, increasing to 400 by Easter 2016.  The facility is ramping up for a November 2015 start and will go into full production next year on IEP trains.  Production of the Abellio ScotRail trains will also commence at the facility in line with plans to enter service from late 2017.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>A special purpose vehicle is a company formed for a specific purpose, which may be for the short or long-term and is not limited to projects. In this way all franchised passenger train service operators are special purpose vehicles which deliver government-supported passenger rail operations. Network Rail also use special purpose vehicles, for example Network Rail Infrastructure Finance (<a href="http://www.networkrail.co.uk/investor-relations/uk-government-guarantee/" target="_blank">www.networkrail.co.uk/investor-relations/uk-government-guarantee/</a>). There are a number of other examples across the industry, but we have no complete list of them.</p><br /> more like this
