star this property answer text <p>My Department works closely with the Home Office on policies that affect tourism. The UK and the EU have proposed reciprocal visa-free travel arrangements to enable UK, EU and EEA citizens to continue to travel freely for tourism in the future. This is the case in both a deal or no deal scenario.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has also confirmed that EU nationals and citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland can continue to travel on a national ID card until December 2020 and use e-passport gates when travelling on a passport. star this property answer text <p>VisitBritain (VB) is responsible for marketing the UK as a whole to the rest of the world and have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tourism Northern Ireland (TNI) to work together on a variety of promotional activities. As part of this MOU, Northern Ireland products are used in marketing campaigns such as GREAT, images of Northern Ireland are used in VBImages and they participate in various business events. In particular, this year saw the Social Tourism Summit hosted by VB and TNI which brought together over 40 social media bloggers from 14 countries as well as travel delegates from the rest of the world to discuss innovations in digital travel marketing.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The responsibility of the Secretary of State under the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964 is to superintend, and promote the improvement of, the public library service provided by local authorities in England only. Public libraries policy in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales is a devolved matter and is the responsibility of the Devolved Administrations.</p><p> </p><p>Libraries NI delivers the library service in Northern Ireland. star this property answer text <p>Under the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, the promotion of tourism in Northern Ireland and Ireland was set out in the North-South Ministerial Council as one of the priorities for co-operation. The UK Government has consistently placed upholding the Agreement at the heart of its approach, and recognises the basis it has provided for the deep economic and social cooperation on the island of Ireland. This includes North-South cooperation.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The UK Government is confident we will reach an agreement with the EU that avoids a hard border between Northern Ireland and Ireland. We do not anticipate any change to the agreement on how the island of Ireland is promoted.</p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Government fully supports the Mayflower 400 programme, and we acknowledge Plymouth as the centre for the anniversary commemorations. Initiatives such as these help to encourage tourists to travel outside of London and see what the whole UK has to offer.</p><p>The Mayflower 400 received standalone grant (not Discover England Fund) of £500,000 over a two-year term ending 31 March 2018 to undertake a range of consumer marketing media ,PR Travel trade and product development activities.</p><p>The Mayflower is also a feature of the £500,000 Discover England fund project “US connections” which uses cultural connections to grow inbound tourism from the US. The project will also be attending Destination Britain North America later this year.</p><p> </p> more like this
