This includes in-person announced and unannounced visits to licensed establishments.</p><p>Self-reporting of non-compliance, in regulatory frameworks, is generally indicative of a willingness towards compliance. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/11/2021 answer text <p>The Home Office responded to the Animals in Science Committee’s (ASC) report on a review of harm-benefit analysis in the use of animals in research on 21 May 2020.</p><p>The Home Office accepted the 17 recommendations pertaining to the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and indicated how it intended to implement the recommendations.</p><p>The Home Office has regularly updated the ASC and stakeholders on progress, and wider issues, at scheduled meetings. In particular, the Home Office has updated ASC and stakeholders on reforms to the regulatory delivery model, including the approach to audit, and updates to the e-licensing system. The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA) was amended in 2013 to include cephalopods for protections to animals in scientific research. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/10/2022 answer text <p>Animal testing is only authorised where there is scientific benefit, to people, animals or the environment, and only when all aspects of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 have been fulfilled. This includes testing only being authorised after successful completion of a harm benefit assessment, when there are no scientifically satisfactory alternative methods and where the principles of the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement) have been fully applied.</p><p>The statistics have shown a continual decline in the requirement for testing of the irritancy of substances to the eye. This decline has largely been due to the successful development and approval of non-animal methods. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/06/2020 answer text <p>New measures introduced on 8 June require all passengers arriving in the UK, who do not fall under a specified exemption, to self-isolate for 14 days to reduce cases of COVID-19 being brought in from abroad and to help prevent a devastating second wave of the disease.</p><p> </p><p>An assurance service is contacting a random sample of non-exempted arrivals to check compliance. Where there is reason to suspect that an individual is not complying, details will be passed to the relevant police force who will consider enforcement action. Police will continue to take the 4 ‘E’s approach of engage, explain, encourage and, as a last resort, enforce. Guidance on enforcement activity is issued by the College of Policing.
