star this property answer text <p>We have no plans to consider returning schools back to local authorities.</p><p>Indeed, as of March 2018, over half a million pupils now study in sponsored academies that are rated Good or Outstanding; they typically replaced underperforming maintained schools.</p><p>The department firmly believe that becoming an academy can bring enormous benefits to schools and their pupils; coming together in a multi-academy trust, sharing expertise, working collaboratively, driving improvements.</p><p>Hundreds of schools every year continue to voluntarily choose to become an academy and join a multi academy trust.</p><p>The department is working on a range of methods and tools for building trust capacity and assessing risk.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Financial accountability for academies is founded on a clear framework which is regulated by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).</p><p>The ESFA has a robust intervention strategy to ensure, where financial concerns are identified, that appropriate and proportionate action is taken swiftly. The ESFA will intervene in a way that is proportionate to the risk and preserves the effective education of children.</p><p>The department is satisfied that these arrangements provide robust financial oversight for academy trusts and we have no plans to change them.</p> more like this

They were previously accessible through the Cancer Drugs Fund.</p><p> </p><p>- Blinatumomab for relapsed refractory (r/r) Philadelphia negative acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL); and</p><p>- Ponatinib for Philadelphia positive ALL in patients in whom imatinib is not clinically appropriate (which might cover some r/r).</p><p> </p><p>The following treatments are currently under consideration by NICE:</p><p> </p><p>- CAR-T (Tisagenlecleucel-T and also Axicabtagene ciloleucel) for previously treated B-cell ALL in people aged 3 to 21 at initial diagnosis;</p><p>- Inotuzumab ozogamicin for treating r/r ALL; and</p><p>- Blinatumomab in other extended indications in ALL.</p><p> </p><p>Finally, the following treatments are currently accessible through the Cancer Drugs Fund.</p><p> </p><p>- Clofarabine for treating ALL in children after two therapies; and</p><p>- Nelarabine for treating ALL after two therapies.</p><p> </p><p>Information on the number and proportion of patients with refractory B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia who have been unable to access treatments for that condition is not held centrally.</p>

star this property answer text <p>In the absence of any taxation of international aviation fuel and no VAT on international or domestic flights, Air Passenger Duty (APD) ensures that the aviation sector plays its part in contributing towards general taxation and helping to bring down the deficit. In 2014-15, APD raised £3.2bn, an important part of the Government’s tax revenues.</p><p> </p><p>Nevertheless, the Government has recently made reforms to APD to cut the longest haul rates and exempt children, reducing the tax burden by £1.5 billion over the period 2015-2020.</p><p> </p><p>Like all taxes, APD is kept under review with any changes announced at fiscal events.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>On 2nd February the Government launched a consultation on UK Airspace Policy. The consultation period began on 2nd February and will run until 25th May 2017</p><p> </p><p>The Government wishes to support airspace modernisation in order to deliver benefits for the UK economy, passengers and communities affected by aircraft noise. The proposals in this consultation aim to strike a balance between unlocking the economic and social benefits of modernised airspace, and addressing the local impacts of aviation.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is also working on a new Aviation Strategy that will set out the Government’s vision for the wider aviation sector. This will replace the 2013 Aviation Policy Framework (APF) and will be subject to a separate consultation process. The consultation on UK Airspace Policy forms a key pillar in the development of the Aviation Strategy.</p> more like this
