star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring that elections are accessible for all those eligible to vote and has already been working with the RNIB to improve the voting process for voters with sight loss.</p><p>It is important for security purposes that a physical poll card is sent to every elector at the property where they are registered, but we have already considered how electoral information might additionally be made available in more accessible format for those who request it.</p><p>Returning Officers already publish details of candidates in the order they will appear on the ballot paper online. We will work with partners in the electoral sector to ensure this information is accessible.</p><p>The Government will continue to work with the RNIB, the Electoral Commission and other relevant organisations to make blind and partially sighted voters aware of the support available to them at the polling station, and to consider what additional support could be provided to help blind and partially sighted people to vote including by post.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>We have no plans to consider returning schools back to local authorities.</p><p>Indeed, as of March 2018, over half a million pupils now study in sponsored academies that are rated Good or Outstanding; they typically replaced underperforming maintained schools.</p><p>The department firmly believe that becoming an academy can bring enormous benefits to schools and their pupils; coming together in a multi-academy trust, sharing expertise, working collaboratively, driving improvements.</p><p>Hundreds of schools every year continue to voluntarily choose to become an academy and join a multi academy trust.</p><p>The department is working on a range of methods and tools for building trust capacity and assessing risk.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Financial accountability for academies is founded on a clear framework which is regulated by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).</p><p>The ESFA has a robust intervention strategy to ensure, where financial concerns are identified, that appropriate and proportionate action is taken swiftly. The ESFA will intervene in a way that is proportionate to the risk and preserves the effective education of children.</p><p>The department is satisfied that these arrangements provide robust financial oversight for academy trusts and we have no plans to change them.</p> more like this

They were previously accessible through the Cancer Drugs Fund.</p><p> </p><p>- Blinatumomab for relapsed refractory (r/r) Philadelphia negative acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL); and</p><p>- Ponatinib for Philadelphia positive ALL in patients in whom imatinib is not clinically appropriate (which might cover some r/r).</p><p> </p><p>The following treatments are currently under consideration by NICE:</p><p> </p><p>- CAR-T (Tisagenlecleucel-T and also Axicabtagene ciloleucel) for previously treated B-cell ALL in people aged 3 to 21 at initial diagnosis;</p><p>- Inotuzumab ozogamicin for treating r/r ALL; and</p><p>- Blinatumomab in other extended indications in ALL.</p><p> </p><p>Finally, the following treatments are currently accessible through the Cancer Drugs Fund.</p><p> </p><p>- Clofarabine for treating ALL in children after two therapies; and</p><p>- Nelarabine for treating ALL after two therapies.</p><p> </p><p>Information on the number and proportion of patients with refractory B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia who have been unable to access treatments for that condition is not held centrally.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recently carried out a comprehensive review of its methods and processes for health technology evaluation to ensure that they were appropriate to emerging new technologies such as advanced therapeutic medicinal products (ATMPs). NICE published its updated health technology evaluation manual in January 2022 and has introduced a number of changes that ensure that its appraisal processes are suitable for emerging new medicines, including a broader severity modifier and changes to better respond to uncertainty. There are no plans for a further assessment of NICE’s processes for evaluating ATMPs.</p><p> </p><p>NICE’s methods and processes have been proven to be suitable for ATMPs where companies are willing to price their products in a way that represents value to the taxpayer. NICE has recommended 80% of the ATMPs it has evaluated for use by the National Health Service and they are now available for the treatment of NHS patients, including through the Cancer Drugs Fund and managed access agreements negotiated between the NHS and the manufacturer.</p>

star this property answer text <p>At the October Spending Review, my Rt. Hon. Friend Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer extended the £1.95 billion funding commitment to the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) Programme from 2026 to 2031. To date, £1.6 billion has been awarded to over 340 collaborative R&amp;D projects spread across the UK. This activity will help to drive the development of new low and zero-carbon emission aircraft technology, which forms an important part of our Jet Zero ambition to decarbonise aviation.</p><p> </p><p>We will work through the annual profile of funding for the ATI programme, including when the programme will re-open to new R&amp;D grant applications, over the coming months. Further information on the programme will be provided following that work.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are providing a range of financial incentives for improving animal health and welfare to farmers through the new Animal Health and Welfare Pathway. These incentives focus on published health and welfare priorities for each sector and will include support for farmers wishing to transition away from the use of enriched ‘colony’ cages for laying hens and farrowing crates for pigs.</p><p> </p><p>Specifically, we are exploring options for large infrastructure grants, building on the animal health and welfare grants already available towards the cost of equipment and technology which offer improvements in the health and welfare of livestock.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>At COP26, the UK announced the £65 million Just Rural Transition Support Programme to support developing countries design and implement approaches that help farmers build resilience and drive investment into more sustainable methods of agriculture. This builds on £9 million of current UK Government support to the Just Rural Transition which is helping countries to take initial steps to implement sustainable land use policies and practices. This is also a priority domestically. Following our exit from the European Union, England has begun a programme of ambitious agriculture reform. This new policy will, over a gradual transition period, phase out the area-based EU style subsidies and instead introduce a package of voluntary grants and continuous payments which reward farmers for environmental outcomes, increase productivity and support investment in technology.</p><p>It is clear that global food and agriculture systems are central drivers of climate change, contributing up to 33% of global Greenhouse Gas Emissions and are the leading driver of biodiversity loss. Through the COP26 campaign on Accelerating Transition to Sustainable Agriculture, the UK COP Presidency raised visibility and mobilised action for transformation in agriculture, land use and food systems, essential to ensure sustainable food production for a growing population whilst building resilience for farmers and a just transition to reduce emissions and reversing harmful impacts on biodiversity.</p>
