star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed investment of more than £6 billion to highways maintenance between 2015 and 2021. This funding includes an action fund to help combat potholes totalling £296 million between 2016 and 2021. The Department published its latest statistics on road conditions in England in January 2018, which showed that at that time local classified roads had been improving overall, with fewer local roads to be considered for maintenance. The Department recognises, however, that the severe frosts of 2018 are likely to have affected local road quality.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The safety of anti-loitering devices is already regulated under the General Product Safety Regulation 2005 (GPSR). This requires all products intended for or likely to be used by consumers to be safe for normal or reasonably foreseeable use.</p><p>It is for local agencies dealing with anti-social behaviour to determine how to best tackle issues in their area, and to ensure any devices they use comply with the relevant legislation.</p> more like this

It is for local agencies to decide when it is appropriate to make use of these powers.</p><p>On 24 December 2017, the Home Office published refreshed statutory guidance on the use of the statutory powers to assist local agencies in addressing anti-social behaviour.</p> more like this
