	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/01/2021 answer text <p>We made a Manifesto commitment to improve the quality of evidence within Government about the types of barriers people face.</p><p>To deliver that promise, in December, The Secretary of State for Women and Equalities launched the Government’s equality data programme. That programme will consider socio-economic background and geography alongside factors such as sex, ethnicity and sexual orientation to enable us to understand where individuals are being held back across the UK.</p><p>The project aims to publish its first outputs in Summer 2021. That is why we are investing over £7 billion more in our schools by 2022-23 than in 2019-20, plus additional funding to cover pension costs. This means schools around the country can continue to raise standards to give all children the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Schools continue to receive additional funding through the pupil premium – worth around £2.4 billion annually – to help them support their disadvantaged pupils.</p><p>During the pandemic, the Government is investing over £400 million to support access to remote education and online social care services, including securing 1.3 million laptops and tablets for disadvantaged children and young people.</p><p>This Government has also delivered an unprecedented package of support to protect jobs and businesses and, for those in most need, injecting billions into the welfare system. The new Covid Winter Grant Scheme builds on that support with an additional £170 million for local authorities in England, to support families with children and other vulnerable people with the cost of food and essential utilities this winter. This was updated in 2023 through the publication of 'Powering Up Britain'.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has halved its emissions, ahead of every other major economy, and we have grown our economy by over 70% since 1990. The UK over-achieved against the first and second carbon budgets, and the latest projections show that we are on track to meet the third.</p><p> </p><p>We have one of the most ambitious decarbonisation targets in the world, and we have set more stretching targets for 2030 than most countries. This includes the right to appoint auditors working on the Government’s behalf to assure the implementation of the financial settlement. On the UK’s request, the EU will provide these auditors with information and assistance to allow them to accomplish their task.
