We are constantly monitoring the effectiveness of the fund’s eligibility criteria and are pleased with progress to date. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/12/2018 answer text <p>The UK recognises that Jerusalem holds particular significance for many groups, especially the three Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Our Embassy in Tel Aviv and Consulate General in Jerusalem raise issues of religious freedom with the Israeli and Palestinian governments and are in contact with representatives of churches on a range of issues. We continue to encourage Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Jordan as custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem to do all they can to work together to uphold the status quo at all the holy sites in Jerusalem. Prior to the most recently scheduled Israeli High Court hearing about Khan al-Ahmar on 25 September –subsequently postponed - our Embassy in Tel Aviv raised our concerns with the Israeli authorities on 24 September. Due to the high number of such cases, we do not intervene as a general rule in cases regarding non-British nationals, with few exceptions such as in certain circumstances of extreme humanitarian need.</p><p>The Foreign and Commonwealth Office regularly raises the issue of delay and refusal of exit permits with counterparts in the Israeli government. We have lobbied at the highest levels on easing restrictions on movement, including the Foreign Secretary to Prime Minister Netanyahu in August 2017. During the recent Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran at the UN, the UK raised the treatment of religious minorities, including the Baha'i. The British Government supports the UN Special Rapporteur's assessment that discrimination against the Baha'i community in Iran is aggravated by a lack of constitutional recognition and the absence of other legal protections for adherents of this faith. At the Human Rights Council in March 2017, the UK strongly supported the renewal of the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran. The UK also supported the Special Rapporteur's recent report on the status of human rights in Iran during the recent Interactive Dialogue at the General Assembly in New York. We strongly condemn this mistreatment and continue to work closely with our partners including the EU to raise the issue directly with the <em>de facto </em>authorities. The immediate release of all Baha'is in Yemen imprisoned for their religious beliefs was a key demand in the September UN Human Rights Council Resolution, which we supported.
