These trends have long been considered to provide a good indication of the broad state of our wildlife.</p><p> </p><p>In November last year, the Government published <em>Wild Bird Populations in England, 1970 to 2017</em>. Overall, this showed that the combined all-species index has changed little compared with around 45 years ago. Friend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced in his Spring Statement on 13 March 2019 that the Department for Education will lead a scheme to provide access to free sanitary products in all secondary schools and colleges across England. On 16 April 2019, I announced that funding would be extended to cover need in primary schools and that national roll-out would take place in early 2020.</p><p>The department published an Invitation to Tender for the Period Products scheme on 15 June 2019, and we intend to award this contract in Autumn 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/06/2019 answer text <p>Research on health and social care continues to be funded by the Government through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).</p><p>The NIHR welcomes funding applications for research into any aspect of human health, including chronic pancreatitis. As with other major research funders, the NIHR does not ring-fence funds for particular topics or conditions. Applications for funding are subject to peer review and judged in open competition, with awards being made on the basis of the importance of the topic to patients and health and care services, value for money and scientific quality.</p><p>The NIHR’s support for research into chronic pancreatitis which is currently ongoing or recently concluded (in financial year 2018/19) includes one directly funded study, with a total award of £262,500, investigating the use of antioxidants and magnesium for the treatment of pain in hereditary and idiopathic chronic pancreatitis. The recent consultation on this proposed a specific formula for adult social care that includes cost drivers for both older people and working age adults.</p><p>We need a sustainable social care system to ensure services continue to deliver for our ageing population and the increasing number of people of working age who require care services.</p><p>This Government is committed to ensuring that the social care system is sustainable in the longer term, which is why we will be publishing a Green Paper at the earliest opportunity, setting out our proposals for reform. This comprises a range of transport improvements including major investments in the Strategic Road Network (SRN), such as the introduction of Smart Motorways, as well as major schemes on the local road network, significant investment in new rolling stock and the rail network and numerous smaller schemes funded through the Local Growth Fund and the Department’s Highways Maintenance and Integrated Transport block funding. The investment has been allocated through funding mechanisms such as the Roads Investment Strategy, rail investment programmes for Control Period 6, and block funding allocations.
