Around 1.5% of UK households cannot easily receive DTT services with less than 0.5% not able to receive DTT services at all. However, DTT, cable and satellite digital television services together cover practically 100% of UK households, so that in all but the most exceptional of cases, everyone should be able to get digital television by one means or another. This includes a duty on schools not to discriminate unlawfully due to the protected characteristics of sex and gender reassignment. As part of the Government’s LGBT Action Plan, the Department has committed to updating this guidance and this will be published in due course. The LGBT Action Plan contains a commitment that the Government Equalities Office will work with the Equality and Human Rights Commission to publish comprehensive guidance for schools on how to support transgender pupils. The Equality Act guidance is available here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/equality-act-2010-advice-for-schools" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/equality-act-2010-advice-for-schools</a>.</p><p>The Department already publishes guidance for schools on setting school uniform policies. The guidance sets out that a school should ensure that their school uniform policy is fair and reasonable for all its students and that policies should be flexible enough to accommodate the different needs of pupils.</p><p>In making decisions about school uniform policy, and all other school policies, a school must have regard to its obligations under the Human Rights Act 1998, the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/02/2015 answer text <p>Academies, including free schools, university technical colleges and studio schools, have the freedom to set their own pay and conditions policies, and so are free to offer their teachers access to car purchase salary sacrifice schemes. Currently 15% of all primary schools and 62% of all secondary schools are academies.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In local authority maintained schools, changes to the statutory pay and conditions of teachers must first be referred to the independent School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB). Recent STRB referrals have focused on fundamental reforms to the overall pay and conditions framework for teachers. Following the STRB’s recommendations, these reforms have given schools much greater freedom to attract and retain the best teachers and to reward individuals in line with their contribution to improving their pupils’ achievements.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The demands on the STRB’s time and resources in the reform process mean that the Government has had to make hard decisions on the issues it refers to STRB. In light of the focus of the important referrals above, we have not prioritised revisions to the existing salary sacrifice arrangements. Friend the Secretary of State has not made an estimate of the impact of removing the Carbon Price Floor (CPF) on capacity payments. Removing the CPF would result in a change in the relative economics of coal and gas generation and so may affect the level at which individual plant bid under the Capacity Market. The Regulators do not set prescribed lifetimes for UK nuclear power stations.
