<del class="ministerial">A small number of shooting clubs are approved to use firearms which use armour-piercing ammunition.</del> <ins class="ministerial">The possession of armour-piercing or explosive ammunition is prohibited under section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968 and can only be used with the</ins><ins class="ministerial">authority of the Secretary of State. No such authority has been granted for the use of such ammunition by civilian target shooting clubs.</ins>
