star this property answer text <p>Incidents of romance fraud published by the Office for National</p><p>Statistics in the Crime in England and Wales Appendix tables under the heading data fraud for each of the last three years are:</p><p> </p><p>2015 2,544</p><p>2016 2,875</p><p>2017 3,364</p><p> </p><p>The Joint Fraud Taskforce, which bring together government, law enforcement and banks to tackle fraud, has a programme of work committed to tackling fraud against those who are particularly vulnerable or susceptible to fraud. This work, led by National Trading Standards is considering a number of initiatives including banking interventions to prevent victims transferring large sums of money and better identifying and assisting vulnerable victims. In addition the Take Five to Stop Fraud campaign is designed to help encourage the public to protect themselves from fraud and scams, providing advice on specific behaviours to help them be more resilient to fraudulent approaches. The campaign was developed jointly by the banking industry, Government experts and the Joint Fraud Taskforce.</p><p>All incidents of Romance Fraud should be reported to Action Fraud, the national fraud reporting line operated by City of London Police, which enables the police to develop intelligence and track down those committing this crime.</p>

star this property answer text <p>All UK companies including those located or operating in the North East are able to access the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) national events and missions programme. This is available to view on GREAT.gov.uk which is promoted nationally.</p><p>In addition, the North East benefits from participation in the specific DIT Northern Powerhouse (NPH) trade missions programme. The DIT North East team work closely with northern organisations and the UK’s global HMG network to assist companies who are participating in any trade mission, either NPH or national. A full list of NPH missions is published on the internet, as are all DIT national events and missions.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>At present the Government Legal Department (GLD) provides around 40 lawyers in its Division advising the Department for Exiting the European Union. They have a wide variety of experience gained across government, regulators and in the private sector including in the areas of state aid and competition law. As part of the GLD, they can also draw on the expertise of barristers and solicitors working in various government departments and public bodies including the lawyers at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy who are the general lead for government on these topics.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government is aware that the EU negotiating mandate explicitly refers to state aid and competition in the context of any future trade agreement between the EU and UK. This future relationship is subject to negotiation. While the Government cannot speculate on outcomes at this stage, any future regime will be on the principles of open markets and fair competition.</p><p><br>As the Prime Minister made clear in her speech in Florence the UK shares with the EU “the same set of fundamental beliefs; a belief in free trade, rigorous and fair competition, strong consumer rights, and that trying to beat other countries’ industries by unfairly subsidising one’s own is a serious mistake.”</p> more like this

Dentists providing care under the NHS exercise clinical judgement in deciding what treatment is clinically required. This includes crowns and if clinically required veneers and, exceptionally, implants. The dentist’s clinical judgement covers what is required clinically and what is needed for cosmetic reasons. As in other areas of the NHS cosmetic treatment is not usually available.</p> more like this
