	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/06/2014 answer text <p>The NHS Business Services Authority (NHS BSA) administers the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) application system and telephone line.</p><p> </p><p>Applicants for EHIC cards are asked to agree to share their application details for the purpose of validating EHIC applications and claims (for which information is shared with the Department for Work and Pensions and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) and in order to prevent and detect fraud and errors (for which information may be shared with NHS Protect and the Department of Health – International Division). The agreement of customers to share their data is sufficient under the Data Protection Act. No personal medical or clinical data is shared as part of this process.</p><p> </p><p>Callers to the EHIC telephone service are assumed to agree to share their application details. We acknowledge that the current telephone message advising callers about data sharing could be clearer. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/05/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>The Office of the Public Guardian (an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice) is piloting an assisted digital service through three third sector organisations: Alzheimer's Society, Age UK and CAB. Customers identified as requiring the service are signposted by the OPG contact centre to the providers national contact numbers. The pilots are being used to assess the extent of the assisted digital need and to evaluate different methods for delivery.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Before going live every digital by default service is required to make sure appropriate assisted digital support is in place. In addition to our presence on the GOV.UK website, we use a range of widely available social media platforms to communicate. The Department regularly seeks to develop the use of these channels in new ways, and to reach more people.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has a particularly strong presence on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, with 129,000 Twitter followers – up by 60,000 since April 2013. Recent tweets on policy activity during ‘Back to School Week’ have reached as many as 1.2 million Twitter accounts. We have 25,560 Facebook followers – up by 12,000 since April 2013. In the last full financial year (2013-14), our YouTube videos were watched around 279,000 times.</p><p> </p><p>The Department also regularly publishes content on relevant third-party spaces, such as the TES Connect website, which is widely used by teaching professionals as a place for discussion and information.</p><p> </p><p>In the last financial year (2013-14), there were 5.4 million unique visitors to the Department’s newly launched web pages on GOV.UK. All the Department’s publications are now published on this website, in line with our digital strategy. National curriculum publications have been the most popular collection of documents anywhere on the GOV.UK website, receiving around 2 million views. Additionally, the Department’s e-consultations application allows users to respond to public consultations online. This tool is widely used to elicit views on a broad range of policy areas, informing their development and implementation.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has used its social media channels effectively to make people aware of public consultations – for example leading to around 5000 responses to the consultation on changes to the national curriculum. On a similar basis, we use our social media channels to make people aware of conferences and meetings at which Ministers or departmental officials are speaking and answering questions. The Cyber Reserve will provide support to the Joint Cyber Unit (Corsham), the Joint Cyber Unit (Cheltenham), and tri-service Information Assurance units. Interest in joining the Cyber Reserve has been extremely positive, both in terms of the quality and quantity of applications received. A number of Cyber Reservist applicants have been selected and are now going through single Service recruiting processes, with many more being invited to interview. The first Cyber Reserve Induction Courses have taken place and these individuals will now move onto specific workplace induction and training. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/06/2014 answer text <p>In 2010, responding to Professor Sir Ian Gilmore's review into extending entitlement to free prescriptions to all those with a long-term condition, the Government made clear that in light of the challenging financial context, no changes would be made to the current list of exemptions. Prescription charges in England raise valuable income, in the region of £450 million each year, which helps the National Health Service to maintain vital services for patients.</p><p> </p><p>The extensive system of exemption arrangements, including for those on low incomes who may struggle to pay for their prescriptions, which is in place means that around 90% of all prescription items are already dispensed free of charge. Prescription Prepayment Certificates (PPCs) are also available for those who have to pay NHS prescription charges and need multiple prescriptions. This is the fifth year the cost of an annual certificate, and the third year the cost of a three month certificate, have been frozen. Both certificates will also remain at £104 and £29.10 respectively, next year. There is no limit to the number of items that can be obtained through a PPC. For example through its information assurance arm, Communications-Electronics Security Group (CESG), it operates a number of schemes which enable individuals and companies to gain CESG endorsement of products and services via technical assessment.</p><p>GCHQ is additionally running a number of pilot cases looking at ways of improving its coordination with SMEs and larger industry partners including on Open Source publishing and licencing to SMEs and larger industry partners. GCHQ is also sponsoring research institutes in Cyber Security and running innovation calls aimed at SMEs. Hot food takeaways (Use Class A5) may cause particular issues to do with late night hours of operation, odours, highways/parking, waste storage, litter and anti-social behaviour. The cumulative impact of multiple premises in urban areas can also compound the problems and harm local amenity.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Councils can use their Local Plans to shape where retail development should go, ensure the right balance of use classes, and prevent cumulative impact. A planning application is required to change from any use to a hot food takeaway.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Licensing Act regime also regulates the late night operation of hot food takeaways, in as far as it relates to the four specific licensing objectives.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Notwithstanding, the planning system is ultimately not a means for the state to regulate the type of food that people eat.
