An announcement will be made shortly. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2018 answer text <p>The Government recognises the importance of evidence for youth work, which is why we are making investments to build and strengthen the evidence base for open access, ‘informal’ youth provision. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/09/2016 answer text <p>Government does place an existing statutory duty on local authorities through the Education Act 2006 (Section 507B) to secure, as far as is practicable, sufficient services and activities to improve the wellbeing of young people. There is an existing statutory duty on local authorities through Education Act 2006 (Section 507B) to secure, as far as is practicable, sufficient services and activities to improve the wellbeing of young people. Individual local authorities would be best placed to advise on whether there are plans to increase the number of places in youth services in their local area.</p><p> </p><p>Government is committed to ensuring all young people have the best possible start in life.
