The target is rightly ambitious and the Department for Education remains committed to working with the rest of government and the sector to driving progress towards achieving it.</p><p> </p><p>This Government continues to support growth in UK education exports, including through the work of the team dedicated to education exports in the Department for International Trade (DIT). They have recently announced the establishment of a DIT Education Sector Advisory Board, chaired by my hon. Friend for Wyre Forest (Bill Esterson), which will support the aspirations of the sector internationally.</p><p> </p><p>The Government actively promotes study in the UK through the GREAT Campaign and through the British Council, which promotes the UK in over 100 countries. Government has no role in relation to the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) beyond regulation as is applied to all workplace pension schemes by The Pensions Regulator.</p><p> </p><p>Neither the Secretary of State nor the Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation has discussed the USS with Universities UK (UUK) or the University and College Union (UCU). Officials have sought updates from UUK on the latest developments regarding the USS. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/02/2018 answer text <p>The department publishes educational performance data for schools and colleges in England based on the performance of students at the end of key stage 4 (age 16) and for 16 to18 year olds, regardless of the institution they attend. Data can be found here: <a href="https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/" target="_blank">https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/</a>.</p><p> </p><p>Further education colleges with 14 to 16 year old provision are included in the secondary performance data, as secondary accountability measures apply to these colleges. Just 17 of the 5,516 institutions with pupils completing key stage 4 in 2017 were further education colleges.</p><p> </p><p>The secondary floor standard, which is the minimum standard for pupil attainment and/or progress that the government expects schools to meet, also applies to further education colleges with 14 to 16 year old provision, as they are state-funded mainstream education providers for this age group. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/04/2014 answer text <p>The Chief Inspector has powers to carry out an inspection of the performance of a particular local authority function as set out in Section 136(1)(b) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006. Specifically, he can use this power to inspect how well the local authority is fulfilling its general duty to promote high standards and fulfilment by every child of their educational potential as set out in Section 13A of the Education Act 1996.</p><p> </p><p>These powers are separate from his powers and duties in relation to the inspection of individual schools which are set out in Section 5 and Section 8 of the Education Act 2005.
