	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/03/2022 answer text <p>Following two months of intensive discussions, the UK secured an expansive removal of Section 232 tariffs on UK steel and aluminium exports to the US on 22 March. The solution reached with the US is bespoke for the UK and reflects the needs and interests of our steel and aluminium industries.</p><p>From 1 June 2022, the US will replace its Section 232 tariffs on certain UK exports of steel and aluminium with “tariff-rate quotas” (TRQs). This re-opens tariff-free access to the US market back to levels before section 232 tariffs up to a specified volume. The latest official figures from the Office for National Statistics (year to end February 2020) reports UK exports at £702.4bn (up 6.1% on the previous year) and imports at £714.2bn (up 1.5%). The impact of COVID-19 on UK trade would not yet have been apparent in these figures.</p><p> </p><p>The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) produce the official UK Economic and Fiscal Outlook forecasts. The UK is, and will remain, committed to maintaining high standards of protection for personal data, including when it is transferred across borders. The UK recognises the importance of data protection to enable trading partners to build trust through transparent treatment of personal data and to ensure that data is able to flow in an uninterrupted manner.</p><p><ins class="ministerial">Currently cross-border data flows as well as privacy and personal information protection are being discussed at the e-commerce negotiations at the World Trade Organization (WTO). This includes targeting steel products, a key revenue source for Russia, where we have banned the import of all finished steel and implemented tariff increases of 35 percentage points on all steel from Russia. Since April, the UK has imported no steel defined as finished or semi-finished directly from Russia.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that any circumvention of sanctions measures through third countries undermines their wider impact. The full costs of the Secretary of State’s visit was paid for by the department.</p><p> </p><p>The Department’s Tradeshow Access Programme provides grants to eligible businesses to attend overseas trade shows. This Programme supported 16 businesses to attend the Consumer Electronics Show, at a cost of approximately £2,000 per business.
