We are working to ensure a smooth transition for the chemical industry as we leave the EU. The European Union (Withdrawal Bill) will convert existing EU chemicals law, including REACH, into domestic law wherever practical, giving consumers and businesses as much certainty as possible. The UK is strongly committed to the effective and safe management of chemicals. That will not change when we leave the EU. Negotiations are still ongoing regarding future trade arrangements, and it would not be appropriate to pre-judge their outcome.
