star this property answer text <p>HMRC has not prosecuted any cases involving the illegal export of military goods from the UK to Israel in the last 2 years (2016/2017).</p><p>DIT have published statistics covering the same period which show that in 2016 they issued 245 export licences for controlled goods to Israel. The goods covered by those licences were worth £128m. In 2017 DIT issued 234 export licences for controlled goods to Israel. The goods covered by those licences were worth £274m.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government does not advise banks around the closure of bank accounts of NGOs: it is for a bank itself to decide whether or not to offer products or services to certain individuals or groups, and it would not be appropriate for the Government to seek to control the commercial decisions of banks and other financial institutions, nor compel them to make a specific decision about a bank account. Banks take such decisions taken in accordance with their business strategies, risk appetite and legal and regulatory requirements.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK aviation industry has an excellent safety record and safety is monitored continuously by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as safety regulator. The safety of the public is the first consideration in any decision-making process.</p><p> </p><p>The CAA has conducted extensive assessments of the risks to aircraft of laser attacks. The CAA Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MORs) provide statistical data on the frequency and geographical location of attacks on UK aircraft. In addition, the data provides details of the rate of reported attacks in relation to the number of aircraft movements at all UK airports including London Heathrow.</p><p> </p><p>The assessments are supplemented with further enhanced statistical analysis of the MORs by Imperial College London.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is actively working to draw together a plan to tackle the issues around the sale and misuse of lasers, and to ensure the safety of consumers and aircraft.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK and Israel have a strong and important trading relationship and we are firmly opposed to boycotts or sanctions. But we do not recognise the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including the settlements, as part of Israel and indeed the settlements are not covered by the current EU-Israel Association Agreement which governs our trade with Israel.</p><p>A just and lasting resolution that ends the occupation and delivers peace for both Israelis and Palestinians is long overdue. The UK remains focused on achieving a two-state solution and we continue to believe that the best way to achieve this is through negotiations between the parties.</p> more like this
