star this property answer text <p>Israeli restrictions damage the economy and living standards of ordinary people in Gaza. There remains an urgent need for all the parties to reach an agreement that addresses the underlying causes of the conflict in Gaza. This should ensure that Hamas and other militant groups permanently end rocket fire and other attacks against Israel and that Israel lifts its restrictions to allow the Gazan economy to grow. We welcome the recent positive steps that Israel has taken to ease some restrictions. However, we want to see Israel go much further, and we are continuing to call on Israel to do so.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK is a long-term supporter of UNRWA, between 2011 and 2015, DFID provided just over £200m to UNRWA, including £63.5 million in 2015/16.</p><p>The UK regularly engages in discussion with UNRWA and other donors about UNRWA’s financial situation.We are aware of the budget shortfall for children’s summer camps in Gaza this summer. The UK remains committed to support UNRWA and my officials remain in close and regular dialogue with UNRWA about its funding position.</p> more like this

The British Embassy in Mogadishu and the British Office in Hargeisa are currently unable to provide consular assistance in Somalia or Somaliland. The UK’s ability to offer consular support to British Nationals in Somalia or Somaliland or establish with certainty the activities undertaken in “rehabilitation centres” is therefore extremely limited.
