answer text <p>The Government is working hard to ensure that Ukrainians escaping conflict are received in a professional and compassionate manner. Since mid-March, all Ukrainians entering the UK with the appropriate visa can travel on public transport, from their port of entry to their end destination, at no cost where travel occurs within 48 hours of arrival. answer text <p>Funding for the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) is provided to local authorities through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s (MHCLG’s) revenue support grant. This funding is not ringfenced, which enables local authorities to make spending decisions that more closely match local needs and circumstances. It is misleading to talk about the grant in isolation when local authorities have access to council tax, business rates and other local income to deliver their local services.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department obtained a copy of the Local Government Association’s analysis when it was published by the Transport Select Committee on Wednesday 13 February. It is important that we consider this analysis in detail and clarify any assumptions made with the Local Government Association before we respond. The Transport Select Committee has asked the Department for a view on the LGA’s analysis and stated that it intends to publish the response.</p><p> </p><p>Funding to local authorities for the concessionary travel scheme in England is not provided in isolation, but as part of their Local Government Finance Settlement.
