	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2019 answer text <p>In a little over a year the department has published both the Port Connectivity Study (PCS) and Maritime 2050.</p><p> </p><p>The PCS focused upon ways to better connect ports in England to the wider transport network, outlining clear recommendations. Departmental resources have been dedicated to achieving these aims and recommendations set out in the PCS. For example, the department has established a Virtual Freight Team, bringing together expertise in road, rail, aviation, and maritime to ensure consistent cross-modal communication and understanding on freight matters. Other initiatives are also underway, such as the £10 million funding from the department for a new access road at Newhaven Port. This work, as well as other ongoing work on port connectivity with industry, will continue as we seek to maximise the value of ports to the UK economy.</p><p> </p><p>Maritime 2050 sets out a long-term vision for the UK maritime sector. 184 recommendations are made in the strategy, with each identified as either short term (1- 5 years), medium term (5-15 years), or long term (more than 15 years). These recommendations are for both Government and industry to deliver together. The Government has already begun acting on these recommendations, for example in announcing £100,000 worth of funding for careers roadshows for girls, to be delivered by the 1851 trust. More funding announcements are to be made over the coming months. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/04/2019 answer text <p>HS2 Ltd formally recognises the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA) for collective bargaining purposes for its directly employed staff.</p><p> </p><p>HS2 Ltd and the TUC have an 'Initial Framework Agreement (IFA) 2016'. The IFA is not designed to cut across or replace any existing or subsequently agreed collective bargaining arrangements, for example those that HS2 Ltd may agree with its own staff.</p><p> </p><p>The contractors that HS2 Ltd engages with in the construction and operation of the railway will have their own relationships with their staff and the trade unions that represent them. IFA is separate from those arrangements. Within the Inclusive Transport Strategy, we have set out our plans to make the rail network more accessible including the commitment to extend the Access for All programme with an additional £300m, which as I announced on 4 April will deliver accessibility improvements at a further 73 stations between 2019 and 2024.</p><p> </p><p>We will monitor the delivery of the rail commitments within the Inclusive Transport Strategy, and evaluate its impact to see what progress has been made towards ensuring the rail network becomes more accessible. HS2 Ltd’s understanding of the volume of material that will need to be transported by rail continue to be refined. HS2 Ltd and its supply chain continue to engage with the rail industry to move these plans forward. As plans become more certain, HS2 Ltd and its supply chain are seeking to secure rail freight support, including making applications to Network Rail for timetable capacity allocation through the standard industry process.
