unstar this property answer text <p>The Treasury continuously monitors global economic developments, including those in China, and their impact on the UK as part of the normal process of policy development.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>As one of the most open trading economies in the world with a large financial sector, we have to recognise that the UK is not immune to the continued problems being experienced in the world economy.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We should not let this put us off. As the Chancellor recently said, while leading the UK’s Economic and Financial Dialogue with China this week, both countries: “have a shared commitment to laying the foundations for stronger, more productive economies that can weather periods of uncertainty. The Government has secured a deal that protects UK taxpayers from any risk from financing euro area bailouts now and in the future. This deal gives legal force to the commitment secured in 2010 that UK taxpayers would not be drawn into a euro area bailout.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>As a shareholder in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the UK has an indirect exposure to Greece through the IMF’s overall lending. Our ultimate exposure to any IMF lending programme would be in line with our quota shareholding (around 4.5 per cent).</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Russian military aviation has never entered British Sovereign Airspace without permission.</p><p>The RAF has identified, intercepted and escorted Russian military aircraft transiting through international airspace in the vicinity of the UK. Russian military flights can present a potential safety concern to other airspace users because of their practice of not communicating with air traffic control agencies with regard to their intentions, not filing a flight plan or not transmitting a recognisable secondary surveillance radar transponder code. Their activity therefore needs careful monitoring, which is why we intercept such flights.</p><p>The UK works closely with our Allies to keep NATO's airspace safe and secure and to enable a co-ordinated NATO air policing response.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Our Intimidation Policy supports all local staff, regardless of role or employment duration, who may be facing security risks as a result of their work with British Forces. The UK is the only nation with a permanent team in country to address the concerns of those worried about their safety, including trained police officers to investigate reported intimidation incidents. These experts thoroughly and professionally investigate all claims of intimidation and have provided support to some 300 former local staff. This support has included bespoke security advice and financial support for some 30 relocations within Afghanistan.</p> more like this
