The Foreign Secretary met Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir in London on 13 March where they discussed the shared commitment to the Commonwealth as a forum to address shared challenges. The Foreign Secretary recognises the potential of AI and adjacent technologies to radically transform how the FCDO operates and delivers diplomatic, development and consular outcomes internationally. The UK will also provide up to £33.06 million of financial aid in 2023/24 to support the delivery of public services and access to the island, including any St Helena Government support towards shipping costs. A further £30 million is being provided between 2019-2026 for infrastructure development, including new port facilities that will facilitate better shipping services. Under this programme a new hot mix asphalt plant has been procured and is currently completing its commissioning. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/06/2023 answer text <p>Through the UK's Caribbean Infrastructure Fund (UKCIF), HMG has supported the Montserrat Port Development Project with a grant of £28.3 million that will allow the construction of a new 130 metre long pier in Little Bay. The pier is being designed to ensure calm mooring conditions in most weather conditions for the majority of vessels that call at Little Bay, including ferries, cargo and container ships, cruise ships and pleasure craft. Work is underway, relocation of coral has been completed and dredging is ongoing.
