star this property answer text <p>My Ministerial colleagues and I, as well as officials from the Department for International Trade, the Department for Exiting the EU and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, are engaging with a wide range of businesses including current and prospective investors.</p><p>Prior to my appointment, BIS Ministers were communicating to these businesses through phone calls, letters, speeches and participation in roundtables and this work continues. We are engaging with businesses and speaking to investors, both in the UK and overseas, to reassure them that Britain is very much open for business.</p><p>We are also working with colleagues in the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and other key departments to ensure a fully coordinated approach to this work and will continue with our marketing activities to promote Britain as a GREAT place in which to invest and with which to trade.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for International Trade (DIT) has a dedicated trade promotion officer in Zambia. In addition, trade promotion activity across Southern Africa is coordinated regionally through the ‘hub’ in Johannesburg from where additional support is provided, including sector-specific expertise.</p><p>DIT provides support to UK companies considering investment in Zambia, ranging from oil and gas exploration to sustainable farming opportunities. In 2016, the Department, delivered a Mining Mission to Zambia, linking UK-based businesses with Zambian counterparts. Furthermore, a British Chamber of Commerce has been established which provides support for British companies seeking business opportunities in Zambia.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for International Trade (DIT) has three dedicated staff in Tanzania. Tanzania is part of the ‘High Level Partnerships Programme’ which promotes cross-government coordination of trade support. In addition, high level support for specific commercial opportunities is provided by the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy for Tanzania, Lord Hollick.</p><p>DIT Tanzania is involved in three high value campaigns, those for oil &amp; gas, infrastructure and renewables. The current pipeline includes at least £500m worth of potential UK export success over the next five years.</p> more like this
