	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/03/2020 answer text <p>Last week, the Government ordered certain businesses including pubs, clubs and music venues to close. This was followed on Monday by the Prime Minister’s announcement that all non-essential premises must close and that people are required to stay at home, except for the very limited purposes that have been set out. These measures will reduce our day to day contact with other people and are a vital part of our efforts to reduce the rate of transmission of coronavirus. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/06/2021 answer text <p>The competition for the third National Lottery licence was run by the National Lottery Commission, which was merged with the Gambling Commission in October 2013. The Commission announced the outcome of the competition on 7th August 2007.</p><p>The Commission received two strong applications for the third licence, from Camelot Group plc and Sugal &amp; Damani UK Ltd. Both bids met the seven demanding Required Standards outlined by the Commission in the Invitation to Apply (ITA). Camelot Group plc was selected as the Preferred Bidder and was awarded the third licence to start from February 2009. Camelot Group plc were considered best able to maximise returns to good causes over the term of the Licence. The published ‘Statement of Reasons’ which discusses the outcome in more detail can be found through the National Archives <a href="https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20090322233228/http://www.natlotcomm.gov.uk/CLIENT/content.ASP?ContentId=330" target="_blank">website</a>.</p><p>The Gambling Commission launched the competition for the fourth National Lottery licence on 28 August 2020. The next licence comes into force in August 2023. The Commission’s priority is to run a fair and robust competition and, given that the competition is underway, it would not be appropriate to name, or comment on, organisations that are participating in the competition. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/04/2020 answer text <p>On 23 March, the Prime Minister announced that people will only be allowed to leave their home for the very limited purposes including shopping for basic necessities, one form of exercise a day; any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Government has been clear that there should be no public gatherings of more than two people.</p><p>There are only two exceptions to this rule:</p><ul><li><p>where the gathering is of a group of people who live together - this means that a parent can, for example, take their children to the shops if there is no option to leave them at home.</p></li><li><p>where the gathering is essential for work purposes - but workers should be trying to minimise all meetings and other gatherings in the workplace.</p></li></ul><p>The Government has also announced that social events, including weddings, baptisms and other religious ceremonies should not take place. The UK is continuing to explore participation in the successor to Creative Europe, which includes the European Capital of Culture Competition. Another £200,000 is being made available up to March 2020 through the International Showcase Fund, delivered in partnership with the PRS Foundation.</p><p> </p><p>At SXSW 2018 in Austin, 91 UK artists performed including at the British Music Embassy which was sponsored by DIT, BBC Music and UK music partners. In the Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review, the Government stated its view that the development of a set of innovative 5G services and new investment models may require more flexible approaches to spectrum licensing. We have read the report with interest. On 20 April we announced an independent review of the regulation of the Football Index product. The review will take an objective look at the decisions and actions of the Gambling Commission and any other relevant regulators, to provide a clear account of how the company’s activities were regulated, identify if there are potential areas for improvement and inform our Review of the Gambling Act 2005. As significantly more customers in Britain were affected by its collapse, the review will focus on Football tIndex.
