star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice is aware that there are differing interpretations within the enforcement industry of the application of the VAT payable on High Court Enforcement fees, which has led to different approaches being taken.</p><p>We are working to produce guidance to clarify the circumstances and manner in which VAT costs can and should be recovered from judgment debtors as an enforcement cost. We will publish that guidance as soon as we are able to.</p> more like this

For the agency of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, 200 staff which equates to 94% of their headcount that would have been working on that day, were working from home. For the agency of the Legal Aid Agency, 1,159 staff which equates to 93% of their headcount were working from home.</p> more like this

As the panel is independent, it remains a matter for the panel to determine how it intends to treat the evidence received in its report. Once the Government receives the panel’s report, the Government will then determine when and how it responds including publication and the underlying evidence in due course.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Following the Justice Select Committee’s inquiry into the ageing prison population last year, we commenced work on an older offenders strategy. Our strategic priorities for this work are that it will ensure that older offenders:</p><ul><li>Are held in the most appropriate environments;</li><li>Can access a purposeful and rehabilitative regime within prison;</li><li>Can access health and care services equivalent to those within the community; and</li><li>Are prepared for their release and resettled effectively.</li></ul><p>We have established a steering group to oversee progress on the strategy, and officials have undertaken fieldwork which has included meetings with prison governors, scrutiny bodies, academics and third sector organisations. We are developing proposals to be included in this strategy in advance of publication this summer.</p> more like this
