HMRC recognise that some of their customers may need extra support. HMRC’s contact
centre advisors are trained to identify customers who may need extra help above and
beyond the help that can be provided by phone. Customers are passed to specialist
teams and where appropriate, HMRC will meet customers face-to-face in their own home
