Over 40MW of new tidal stream power was secured via Allocation Round 4.</p><p> </p><p>To enable delivery of the commitments in the British Energy Security Strategy, the Department has strengthened the energy National Policy Statements, including a framework for assessing planning applications for tidal stream projects of above 100MW capacity. Instead, they obligate energy suppliers to deliver energy efficiency measures to meet a legislative target based on annual bills savings. The ECO4 scheme is worth £4 billion over four years while the Great British Insulation Scheme is worth £1billion over three years.</p><p> </p><p>ECO4 delivers to those on the lowest incomes and the most vulnerable. The Government plans to publish a second REMA consultation in early 2024.</p><p> </p><p>The CfD scheme already insulates consumers against electricity price spikes.
