star this property answer text
All United Kingdom commercial helicopter operators require an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority. The requirements for the granting of an AOC are set out in legislation, and are concerned with an operator’s ability to fulfil their responsibilities for safety. This approval process is not designed to take into account the environmental effect of individual flights. It would not be possible to take the views of affected residents into account because the AOC is not based on specific flying routes. Affected people with concerns over airspace or environmental effects, can inform the CAA using the Airspace Use Report (FCS 1521) form which can be downloaded from its website.

more like this

Following Royal Assent, a Working Group of relevant experts was established to provide recommendations to ministers on what, if any, legislative requirements should be introduced. The Working Group’s report has been published online at:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/electrical-safety-standards-in-the-private-rented-sector-working-group-report

We will engage further with the sector to test the recommendations of the Working Group to ensure that any regulation introduced is balanced and works for landlords and tenants.

There are no plans to transfer responsibility for this policy area.

ICD-11, which will be presented at the World Health Assembly in May 2019 for adoption by member states, includes fibromyalgia under ‘General symptoms, signs or clinical findings’ in the category of ‘chronic widespread pain’.

The Department’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) welcomes funding applications for research into any aspect of human health, including fibromyalgia. It is not usual practice to ring-fence funds for particular topics or conditions; applications are subject to peer review and judged in open competition, with awards being made on the basis of the importance of the topic to patients and health and care services, value for money and scientific quality. NIHR support for fibromyalgia research over the last five years includes £1.8 million funding for research projects and £0.6 million funding for clinical trials through the NIHR Clinical Research Network.
