A report published by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills contains

target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/low-carbon-and-environmental-goods-and-services-2011-to-2012.

The
report does not explicitly refer to the energy efficiency sector, but it does present
estimates of employment in the low carbon building technologies and energy management
sectors from 2007/08 to 2011/12 (figures for earlier years are not available). The
estimates of employment in the two sectors contained within the report include both
those employed directly and those employed indirectly in the wider supply chain.
