We are seeking to replicate the effects of our international treaties, as far as possible and where relevant, and we are engaging closely with third parties to deliver continuity as we leave the EU.</p><p>In relation to those international agreements listed under the EU Treaties Office database that have been superseded, are redundant, or no longer relevant to the UK, we have a responsibility not to release information that could hinder our discussions with partner countries. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/01/2019 answer text <p>Discussions with all partner countries have demonstrated a commitment to finding a pragmatic way to ensure continuity of our existing international agreements. As part of the Withdrawal Agreement, the EU agreed to notify its treaty partners that the UK be treated as a Member State for the purposes of EU international agreements during the Implementation Period (IP). This includes trade agreements.</p><p> </p><p>The Government continues to prepare for all eventualities, including a ‘no deal’ Brexit scenario, in the event of which we will seek to bring into force bilateral agreements from exit day (29 March 2019) or as soon as possible thereafter. We are making good progress and have signed agreements with partner countries, such as Chile, the Faroe Islands and Eastern and Southern African Economic Partnership Agreement states, with others soon to follow. When we reach agreement with other countries will depend on the progress of ongoing discussions, taking into account their assessment of the possibility of a no deal; their own political or parliamentary situation; resource constraints and other factors. The EU will notify third parties of this approach.</p><p><strong><br></strong>Discussions we have had with our international partners suggest a willingness to find a pragmatic means of ensuring continuity of international agreements in a way that minimises the impact of the UK’s departure on them. This will enable continuity across our existing trade agreements through this period, and many of our trading partners have issued public statements in support of this approach.</p><p>In parallel to this, we continue to work towards bilateral agreements that will ensure continuity beyond the Implementation Period.
